In the meantime, I want you to think of an area in your life where you need to refuse to give up. Reach a goal – a goal that requires you to be disciplined and overcome some obstacles, but it is a goal that promises a big reward. Find a positive goal in life. It could be as basic as making your bed every morning, or as ambitious as running a marathon or climbing a mountain.
It may be freedom from fear of flying or fear of speaking in front of the public, or it may be an overcoming of a physical or learning disability. It might be due to cleaning your house or getting out of debt. Come with God and decide what your goal should be and what you are worth putting your energy into.
If other people think your goal is too easy, it’s too bad. If it’s a legitimate goal for you, stick with it. If other people think it’s impossible, don’t let them discourage you. Just make sure you agree with God and then pursue your goal with everything in you. You will see as you read this article that rewards whoever wins. Having a positive goal in life is as important as breathing fresh air.
May God help you to be “full of” the Holy Determination – not a kind of physical will or willpower – but a true determination given by God. I encourage you to pray and bow down with discipline and diligence in every area of your life, because in this way you will overcome your obstacles and enjoy your hard work. Live one day at a time and remember that God has a reward for you. Don’t you dare miss them!
Be Smart About Positive Goal In Life
Many people never achieve their goals because they don’t know how to set them. One popular and easily remembered abbreviation that has helped countless people reach their goals is the word smart:
Let me clarify.
Make sure your goal is as specific and perfect as possible. For example, don’t say, “I want to lose weight“; Say, “I want to get rid of 10 pounds or 20 kilograms in the next few months. Every time you hear yourself talk about your goals in vague terms, ask yourself,“ What does that mean? ”Soon, you’ll find yourself making comments like,“ I’ll stop watching TV at 9:30 Every night I’ll be in bed by 10 o’clock instead of “I need to watch less TV and get more sleep”.
Goals that are difficult to measure are goals that are difficult to achieve. Before committing to a goal, decide how you will monitor your progress. For goals that include debt reduction, you can measure your progress with monthly account statements. For exercise goals, you can track how many pounds you can lift or how many miles you can run. Whatever your goals, find ways to measure them, whether that includes a journal, checklist, chart, graph, spreadsheet, or any other creative way to find out what you are doing.
Make sure the same goal can be reached. You don’t have a goal of losing thirty pounds in one week or paying off all of your debts in one year – when your debt is more than your annual salary. Choose targets that are out of your reach – not that easy to challenge you, but not so difficult that it extends to breaking point.
I believe in dreaming big dreams and high goals, but don’t set yourself up for disappointment by trying to reach an unrealistic goal. Evaluate all factors that will affect your ability to reach your goals and work within those criteria. Ensure realism in view of your health and physical condition, financial matters, schedules, personal abilities and other priorities.
People who set goals below their target milestone dates rarely achieve their goals. Give yourself deadlines for achieving your goals. If you’ve been working towards a goal over a long period of time, consider setting average goals every week or month, to keep you on the right track.
