Social media is playing a very important role in our lives at this time and many people love to spend their time on scrolling other people’s profiles and watching them do different things. It is not wrong to go after what is making you happy but, compromising on health and productivity? Is it a good deal? No, surely not. That is where we should learn how to build habits. What habit actually is?

Changing Habits Is Not The Myth

So habits shape our lives and building healthy habits helps to boost our productivity. People think that it is impossible to change habits especially when you are old and have been spending your life the same way for years. So let’s hear it once and for all that changing habits is not a myth. You can do it whenever you want to.

It is a very common thing to do but, not interacting with any digital device in the morning is the first best thing you can do to yourself. Not using phones, laptops and televisions in the morning gives you time and space to think and schedule your day.

Waking up to feeling bad for something that someone said is not a good start to a day. You can reply to your friends after spending quality time with yourself or catch up on your mails after coming back from a walk. So, you can

  • Try to ignore gadgets in the morning instead of going for a walk
  • Prepare a healthy breakfast
  • Read a book
  • Schedule your day, do yoga

Spend Time With Your Family

People of this generation associate their happiness with their achievements. They are spending a lot of their time at work, sometimes not even talking to their parents and siblings for days.

Then, they complain that they do not feel content and satisfied. They miss this true essence of togetherness and company. There is no objection in saying that sparing your time for your family and friends does not create hurdles in your work.

Creating a habit of spending time with family is one of the most productive and healthy habits you can follow.

Things Remain The Same

We are always trying to find out new things in our days. We forget that the world remains the same, our life remains the same under this sun that is what we are not ready to believe. We go on wasting our time on finding new things and running after different things.

We forget that things remain the same, it is our perception that makes the world beautiful for us. Epictetus says, “It’s not things that upset us, it’s our judgment about things.” So this is a perspective that makes you feel that life is beautiful, we are responsible for not finding beauty in it.

You Can Always Build New Habits

It is never too late to leave or build a habit. It is never too late to learn or learn something. It is never too late to change or accept something. You can always adopt a new habit if you really want to adopt it. People love to eat junk food even though they forget how harmful they can be if taken in excess.

They do not attempt to give try to a single healthy food however they know how important healthy food is for our body and mind I have seen people who give up smoking, drinking, sleeping late, eating unhygienic and not trying. I can say this from personal experience that I was the person who never moisturized her face for like 20 years.

But, I developed this habit when I got to know its importance. Now I cannot skip moisturizing my face for even a single day. I carry my moisturizer everywhere with me on my tours, job and university.

The reason behind sharing my personal experience is to make you believe that it is not impossible to develop new habits at any age, not even after years of not doing that.

Start Believing Yourself To Build Habits

Everyone has problems, everyone is stuck somewhere, everyone has the potential to grow, the only thing we need to do is to believe in ourselves and give ourselves a chance.

It is the journey all of us should start. A journey of discovering ourselves, a journey of building ourselves.
